Nayunva taken the longest, most confusing route back to the clan. Her theory was that, if it so happened that James be told to leave, he would hae a very difficult time making it back to the site of the old hometree without help. She had crossed no less than two streams and had actually just led the creature in a big circle for about an hour.
By the time they actually neared the clan, the sun was high in the sky, and the temperature had started to rise. As they neared the clan, she could begin to hear the sounds of everyday clan life. Chattering amongst neighbors, Pa'li getting ready to be ridden, small children playing. She inhaled deeply, hoping she wasn't putting her clan in danger by bringing this creature here. She had made sure they weren't being followed. Scanned the skies for any sign of the monster bird machines they used for travel, and pausing occasionally to attempt to hear the sounds of additional footsteps.
They finally claered the forest, and came upon the clan. They were spaced our somewhat, traveling between the different tree's, leading Pa'li. But upon site of her and the dreamwalker, activity seemed to cease. Almost immediately there were urgent whispers between clanmates, and nervous golden eyes scanning the creature that walked behind her. Nayunva did not stop, rather, she continued walking towards the Communal Tree, the most likely place for the Tsahik.

It felt like forever while they walked, but he tried memorizing everything, but it was hard. Everything looked the same and he was looking for any form of land mark, which was hard enough to do since there were really none. He was sure if they allowed him to learn that he would be able to learn as best as he could, but if not, they would kill him now, or at least, the Avatar. He looked up to the sky and mentally prayed to their Eywa. ”Please give me a chance, I know I am not one of your Na’vi, but I am not here to Harm any of your people, I just want to be accepted.”
He said to the goddess he had learned a lot about. It was getting hot, the day was becoming afternoon and the Yerik was getting heavy, but he was not giving up, he moved, following the female and watching everything. Every now and then she would stop and even he would listen, hoping no one had followed him, which so far, was good. As they got closer, he could hear the children and the chattering of people. He did not look around, for fear he would offend someone. He kept his eyes down and since his brother had literally schooled him on what not to do, he just moved with the woman. As they moved across the cleared forest area, he saw the clan, but he did not look at anyone, the activity had completely stopped and he even heard voices, mumbling. He knew what they were saying, he could hear them and he understood some of the words. He felt eyes all over him and then after a while of walking, they came to a stop. He looked at the female’s head, looking at her, but using his vision to see that they had to be in the center of the tree. He swallowed and sent another prayer to Eywa, hoping she would hear him. He knew she was real, he had that feeling she was real and he would respect her and the people she protected. [/blockquote]

Kilvan'mawey was in the middle of teaching a group of younglings one of the many story-songs of the Omaticaya when she felt it. A ripple among her people... how she felt it she didn't know, but she could sense their unease at something, something within their own home...
Without realizing it she had paused in mid-stanza which prompted one of the female younglings next to her to put a hand on her shoulder and ask very sweetly, "Tsahik, are you okay?"
Kilvan'mawey smiled at the youngling and kissed her on the forehead, making her giggle as she smiled at the whole group and spoke, "Today's lessons are at an end my Ay'evi as I believe Eywa has brought something interesting to us, want to go see?"
All the children nodded as two of them helped the aged female up as another brought her her large gnarled staff covered in leather strips with tons of beads and feathers hanging off of it. The group made their way down the center of the tree to the source of the disturbance. She knew she had reached her destination by two things, the children who had been chattering suddenly going deathly silent and an odd new scent among her people - a scent she knew.
Pursing her lips her blind eyes narrowed a bit as she focused her 'inner sight' so that she could see the energy flowing around her. There were her people, their inner lights shining bright, illuminating something of a silhouette of their bodies and one was coming toward her, Nayunva with someone or to be more correct something following behind her. It was a male uniltìrantokx, his light was a little different within him, rather like Nia whom she had met earlier, thus she knew what their energy signature looked like already. She released her focus with a tired sigh as using the ability was becoming more and more draining.
Plus she didn't expect the Dreamwalkers to be coming to their camp so soon... Ah, how fleeting is time, much like a river, hopefully this wasn't a repeat of the tale of Jakesulli where in the end many of her beloved Clan had to die...
"Nayunva!" she said a little too sharply than she intended, but ah well, there it was, "You go a-hunting and bring us back a uniltìrantokx? He looks stringy and we'd have to stew him a bit so my old teeth could handle it, eh?"
That garnered a few nervous laughs from the crowd that had assembled as the Tsahik awaited what the two had to say to her...

As Nayunva approached the Tsahik, she wasn't surprised that the old woman immediately knew what was going on. She always seemed to be in the know, despite her blindness. Nayunva harboured a great amount of respect for the old woman. She was an excellent Tsahik, and having her in power was a lesson to everyone in the clan. One can overcome any obstacle.
The Tsahik had her customary staff with her, and as she approached, Nayunva touched her hand to her forehead, the customary greeting.
Nayunva! You go a-hunting and bring us back a uniltìrantokx? He looks stringy and we'd have to stew him a bit so my old teeth could handle it, eh?
Nayunva smiled slightly at the old woman's comment. The old woman had a way of easing the People, even when they were all tense.
"The vrrtep claims that he is an outcast from his own people, that he wishes to come be amongst us." As she spoke, she gestured back towards James. "I wasn't sure that I should kill him. He was docile, and spoke of Eywa." She paused slightly, a small smile on her face as she continued. "However, I have never tasted dreamwalker stew. It must have an interesting flavor. I'd be willing to try it."

As they got closer and soon stopped, he watched as a group of young Na’vi came towards him with a elder woman. She looked very frail and delicate, but he had a feeling she was stronger then he thought. She was being lead slightly by the children, though at the same time, she was leading them towards him… The Commotion. He could tell his presence was giving off that feeling, everyone was tense and he did not like tense at all. He kept his eyes down, his head down slightly, but he was able to get a good look at the woman slightly, even though the other was before him.
”Nayunva!" He looked at the white haired Na’vi. Nayunva must have been her name, it was pretty, different, but pretty. She was pretty, but he did not need to think about that now, he needed to think about becoming one of them, becoming part of the people and understanding them. He wanted to be a part of something. ”You go a-hunting and bring us back auniltìrantokx? He looks stringy and we'd have to stew him a bit so my old teeth could handle it, eh?" He gulped slightly.
If that was to become of his Avatar, he would have to get use to the idea. He did not want to be killed and he glanced up to the canopy of the trees. He knew he was not a part of the people, but he could only hope Eywa would find mercy on a outsider. He truly wanted to be a part of them, himself and his siblings included. They had never been part of a family, they were all outcast among the humans.
James took a quick glance at everyone. Women were behind their men and men held weapons, ready to kill him as soon as the older woman gave the word. He looked slightly towards the older woman, but he kept his eyes to her feet, not wanting to be disrespectfully. He did not know what was respectful and what was not, but he did not want to do anything stupid. He could tell that everyone respected this woman, that much could be told and he tried to be as quiet as possible. He found the ground very interesting at this point.
"The vrrtep claims that he is an outcast from his own people, that he wishes to come be amongst us." Vrrteo? He racked his brain for the meaning and soon, he remembered it. Demon. He could understand that name for him, he was a demon to them, he was sure that stories were being told now about him. ”I wasn't sure that I should kill him. He was docile, and spoke of Eywa." He looked slightly at Nayunva’s feet, still not wanting to look up further then he should. ”However, I have never tasted dreamwalker stew. It must have an interesting flavor. I'd be willing to try it." He could hear the smile in her voice and he tried to smile slightly, to show he was some what relaxed, but he could not be relaxed. He could be killed right here and there. The Yerik on his shoulders was feather weight compared to the weight that was on his lungs right now.

Despite the joke, the Dreamwalker seemed to say nothing in response... hrm.
"Nayunva, did you cut out its tongue already? Or is it just mute, eh?" the elder Na'vi scoffed a bit with a smirk - again, this garnered a bit of a laugh from the surrounding group.
Honestly if the Dreamwalker wanted to join them, he had to make his own case here, not just stand there like a pamtseowll on a log. Maybe he didn't speak Na'vi, well time to test that theory...
<<Sky Person, why you come, eh?>> she said in heavily accented English, <<Why you here? You made to leave by other Sky People? Did you do some evil to be gone so? Yes? Speak you me now if you wish to stay alive. Other Clans kill you before reach you me, why should we not do same? Speak, speak!>>
She hefted her large staff at the Dreamwalker and shook it as she spoke, making the beads rattle against the thick, heavy wood.
"Maybe a palulukan got his tongue!" a female voice yelled out as Ni'awtu appeared out of the crowd, "This was the fool we told you all of, the Dreamwalker who thought he could take on a palulukan with just a knife!"
A wave of gossip and chatter ran through the crowd like a wave, some gave James new appraising looks, others looked even more disgusted and waved him off. Kilvan'mawey cocked her head to one side listening to all the tittering - so this was the one joked about recently within the Clan since that hunting party that witnessed the altercation came back with the tale.
"Kikikikiki!" the Tsahik cackled and then spoke again, "He must think himself very brave! Or is he just foolish? Forgive me young warriors if this old lady thinks if there is not much difference between the two, heh heh heh."
Finally she pointed a boney, gnarled finger at James, <<Speak you! Speak you while you still can!>>

James did not want to disrespect anyone, so his mouth kept closed, nearly glued shut, except to take in a small breath when needed. ”Nayunva, did you cut out its tongue already? Or is it just mute, eh?" He could not help but smile slightly at this one. He could be considered mute, but he did not want to be considered that all among these people. He respected them, he knew they were strong then him.
”Sky Person, why you come, eh?” He looked at her, not moving, holding the Yerik on his shoulders with ease. ”Why you here? You made to leave by other Sky People? Did you do some evil to be gone so? Yes? Speak you me now if you wish to stay alive. Other Clans kill you before reach you me, why should we not do same? Speak, speak!” He was about to, when he swears he heard another voice that came, one he knew from only the day before. He turned to see the face he had not been able to remember.
”Maybe a palulukan got his tongue!" He ran his tongue over his teeth slightly, the teeth that were slightly sharper then those of human. ”This was the fool we told you all of, the Dreamwalker who thought he could take on a palulukan with just a knife!" He looked down slightly and lifted his body a bit higher. He turned to face her, looking at her with respect like no other. He was about to speak when the old woman quickly spoke up. ”Kikikikiki!" He turned his head towards her, lowering himself slightly, not by height, but he did not seem so high and mighty. He could hear mumbling still from the others.
”He must think himself very brave! Or is he just foolish? Forgive me young warriors if this old lady thinks if there is not much difference between the two, heh heh heh." He looked at her and then waiting for a chance to speak. She pointed straight at him and he took in a breath. ”Speak you! Speak you while you still can!” He looked at the one who had brought him here and then took a step forward and stopping, still keeping the Yerik on his body.
He spoke in Na’vi. ”I did not speak because I am mute, Great Tsahik.”
He said to her. ”I did not speak, because I did not want to speak out of line… I was not sent away, but I chose to leave… I am nothing but a Outcast among them, a Orphan, someone who is low and worth nothing… I wanted something better. I know of what the Sky People did to you and your people in the past, I do not deny that it was wrong, I never will… What… my people did was murder, something I could never see myself doing… I wanted to be a part of something that was better and your people…” He looked at the others for a moment and then back at the Tsahik. ”Seemed like the best opinion in my case… I understand if you will not accept me or at least teach me… But I do ask one thing… Before… Nayunva… Brought me here, I killed this Yerik for your people… I can promise that I thanked it for it’s sacrifice and also gave thanks to Eywa… I know that she probably does not care for me, but I respect her and I believe in her.” He said to the woman, putting the large Yerik down a few feet in front of him and backing away… He then took in another breath… ”And the reason I fought the Palulukan, was to give my siblings a chance to escape… The animal went after my sister and she is the only one I have… I know the bodies we have are nothing more then bodies we use, but if her body was killed, I would never live with myself. I would rather have died then my sister.” He said to the Tsahik and also those who were still mumbling. ”My siblings… They are the only thing I have… We are all considered outcast among our people.” [/blockquote]

Behind her, James continued to be perfectly silent, something which the Tsahik joked about. Nayunva smiled before moving to the side, slightly. This was between James and the Tsahik. The Tsahik said something to James in a language Nayunva did not understand. She didn't really like the sound of the language. IT was harsh sounding, not like the flowing language of the Na'vi. Nayunva glanced up as a female forom the crowd (whom in a second she recognized as Ni'awtu), declared this dreamwalker to be the one who tried to kill the Palulukan with a knife. Nayunva smirked slightly. That story had kept the clan amused yesterday.
The Tsahik continued, and Nayunva looked at James expectantly, as did the rest of the clan. If he truly wanted to be apart of The People, he had to prove his worth. And so he finally spoke. He spoke in Na'vi, thankfully, and not in the language the Tsahik had spoke in earlier. Most of what he said, Nayunva already knew, as she had pretty much interrogated him earlier. As he finished, laying down the Yerik, all eyes focused back on the Tsahik, for her response.

So the uniltìrantokx had a tongue after all as the Tsahik's ears flicked forward to catch what the Dreamwalker had to say.
"I did not speak because I am mute, Great Tsahik. I did not speak, because I did not want to speak out of line… I was not sent away, but I chose to leave… I am nothing but a Outcast among them, a Orphan, someone who is low and worth nothing… I wanted something better. I know of what the Sky People did to you and your people in the past, I do not deny that it was wrong, I never will… What… my people did was murder, something I could never see myself doing… I wanted to be a part of something that was better and your people…"
Kilvan'mawey suppressed a sigh only through sheer force of will and a patience gained through many, many years of being around. Although a stray thought did cross her mind of Why now? Why now in her few remaining twilight years did the Sky People have to come? Chase her into an early grave?
The Dreamwalker continued his diatribe: "Seemed like the best opinion in my case… I understand if you will not accept me or at least teach me… But I do ask one thing… Before… Nayunva… Brought me here, I killed this Yerik for your people… I can promise that I thanked it for it’s sacrifice and also gave thanks to Eywa… I know that she probably does not care for me, but I respect her and I believe in her."
She just nodded to this as despite his excellent handle on their language, he still made no sense, but she waited for him to finish before she'd reply...
"And the reason I fought the Palulukan, was to give my siblings a chance to escape… The animal went after my sister and she is the only one I have… I know the bodies we have are nothing more then bodies we use, but if her body was killed, I would never live with myself. I would rather have died then my sister. My siblings… They are the only thing I have… We are all considered outcast among our people."
There was a very long pause before the aged Na'vi spoke as she digested his words and pondered upon what she had been told. He kept insisting he was an outcast, but for what reason was he outcast? He said he had done no evil, yet here he was asking asylum with them, but he had family. How can one be an outcast, an orphan, yet had siblings to call his own? He kept repeating the outcast information, yes, yes she got it already.
"The past is behind us, over and done with, yet we must never forget it or such things will be repeated. Your apology or feeling bad for such things is insulting. It was not you who did these things so long ago, thus why do you apologize? Guilt for nothing? You feel guilty for something, but it should not be for things outside of your control."
She cocked her head to one side as she poked the dead yerik with her staff, "You may have said the words, or even believe in Eywa and you may think you know our ways like you speak our language, but this shows your ignorance. Eywa craves no sacrifices to impress others. It is not the material we crave, we only take just enough to survive," she waved her hand some, she was getting off track.
"Anyway kurakx - as you have not even told us your name yet - I have only one question for you to see if you stay or not, thus answer me truthfully or else there will be consequences."
She fixed him with a particular stare as if she could see again, "Why do you hate yourself?"

He was a outcast, his whole family was truly a outcast. They had no one to love them, everyone thought they would fail, yet they never did, they all wanted to get out of the place that so many called Home. He watched the Tsahik careful, hoping she would at least let him try to be one of them. He knew everything was in the past, but he still felt guilt for his race, they were nothing more then monsters and they never seemed to get better.
”The past is behind us, over and done with, yet we must never forget it or such things will be repeated. Your apology or feeling bad for such things is insulting.” He was slightly surprised at this, but he did not allow it to show on his face, he could not allow such a thing. The other had found it surprising that he had not denied it, yet she finds it insulting? He was going to be confused more while he was here, if he did not die before them. ”It was not you who did these things so long ago, thus why do you apologize? Guilt for nothing? You feel guilty for something, but it should not be for things outside of your control." He nodded…
He understood what she meant, he could have done nothing before, yet he was taking all the weight onto himself. He felt more weight being lifted off his shoulders as he realized that slightly. ”You may have said the words, or even believe in Eywa and you may think you know our ways like you speak our language, but this shows your ignorance. Eywa craves no sacrifices to impress others. It is not the material we crave, we only take just enough to survive," He nodded. Maybe then they would not have to go hunting for dinner tonight, they could use what he captured for them, or well, hunted for them. He had plans to use it for himself if he did not find the Na’vi, but at least now, they could use it or chose to throw it away with his own body.
"Anyway kurakx - as you have not even told us your name yet - I have only one question for you to see if you stay or not, thus answer me truthfully or else there will be consequences." He looked at her, knowing it would answer it as truthfully as he could answer, he just hoped he did not babble like a two year old. ”Why do you hate yourself?" He looked at her for a moment, into her white eyes, those that showed blindness, but he did not say anything about it, in fact, his own ignorance did not even tell him she was blind.
”I don’t… I am tired of my people… Tired of being trapped in a cage… Tired of being called fatherless and motherless and being pushed away by everyone… Well, I guess I do hate myself, because I hate being looked down on and told I am nothing.”
He said, looking at her, knowing that what he spoke was the truth and as he thought about it, he truly did hate himself, which was why he wanted out. He wanted to be different, wanted to be free, wanted to have friends that would love and help him. [/blockquote]

"I don’t… I am tired of my people… Tired of being trapped in a cage… Tired of being called fatherless and motherless and being pushed away by everyone… Well, I guess I do hate myself, because I hate being looked down on and told I am nothing."
Kilvan'mawey finally sighed as all she heard was 'Woe as me, woe as me, woe as me.'
The aged Tsahik walked up to James so swiftly it was like she teleported or something as one moment she was standing a healthy distance away, the next she was almost face to face with James. Her blind eyes narrowed as she wielded her staff like a pro and delivered one deft cuff to the Dreamwalker's head.
"WE ARE OMATICAYA!" The Tsahik took on her serious voice, and it resonated and reverberated all over the place so all could hear it, especially those standing right in front of her, "WE ARE NA'VI!"
She raised her arms, her staff helf high as she announced this with a roar. To this many of the crowd hooped and hollered in agreement showing their pride in who they were unabashedly. Many raised their knives and bows, proudly displaying their fangs as they showed off who they were. Kilvan'mawey made a sweeping motion that made all the Clan fall silent around her.
"We do not whine and do not pity ourselves! We perservere! Eywa does not pity us, she does not save those who whine and cry like babies. She gives us what we need to stay in balance - not what we want. You do nothing but whine how you are an outcast. So what? That's supposed to make us pity you and welcome you with open arms? Eh? Why didn't you take pride in yourself? Carve out a place for yourself among your own despite them, show them your true worth? Take pride that you have a family, you are not alone, you have a brother and sister who I would hope love you - but then you are out here and not with them, no? Did you abandon them? Eh?"
She dropped her arms and gazed intently at James again, "Did I whine when my eyes were taken from me? No! I was sad, yes, but I did not whine, I worked harder - not wallow in pity. Did my brothers and sisters in this Clan whine when they overcame their own obsticales and proved themselves worthy to be one of the people? No!"
Kilvan'mawey pointed the staff at James again, "If you have no self-worth, no one else will respect you. This is why you are an outcast. Stop blaming others for what you hate about yourself. They will respect you when you respect yourself.
"You cannot be among us until you respect yourself. Thus, I charge you with this task, go back to your people and find balance within, yes? You say you feel tired, trapped. It is because you are unhappy with youself and you seek an extrenal source to fix this unhappiness. I will tell you now if you have ears to listen, we cannot give you this happiness, you will not find it here with us as it will be shallow and like food that does not fill your belly, but leaves you empty," she paused and let that sink in some.
"Stop running away from your problems! Face them! And only then you will find the strength to be with us. When you have the respect of your people, you will then start to earn ours."
The elderly Tsahik waved her hands as if she was shooing him like an annoying fly, "You have your answer now - Nayunva, Ni'awtu, take him back to his people. He is not ready to learn from us... yet."
