Lean and full of strong muscle mass, Ateyo is a scary sight to see at time, especially with his twisted and burned skin across his chest and right arm. The skin on these body parts are a lighter shade purple-blue than the rest of his body, and have no stripes to be seen. The unburnt skin, however, is a deeply tanned purple-blue with dark navy stripes. These parts have light scars from upsets with his brothers and encounters with the various creatures of the plains. His hair is braided back out of his face and is tied in a top-knot at the very peak of his head like most warriors of the clan with the queqe hanging down from this knot. The grey-blue and red feathers on the sides of his head tell of him being a hero and a healer. For decoration he has an open gauge in his right ear with a deep green feather hanging from it. His clothing consists of a tanned skin loincloth, a dark purple-ish in color, and a tight choker decorated with blue beads that he was passed down from his father. He wears the practical belt across his scarred chest, which holds his knife, and arm and leg guards.
Background:
Ateyo was born the son of a warrior and a singer. He was the first child of his quickly growing family, and by age eleven he was constantly watching over his two little brothers and one little sister.
Ateyo grew through his teenage years as an almost unshakeable guardian. He was, and still is, a serious creature, taking no back-talk but always watching with a hawk-like gaze. Many other children found him to be untouchable and quite uncomfortable to be around. The only one who could shake him was his little sister and her soft smile and voice. She melted him like butter and got him to not be so stoic around the others.
Soon after Ateyo became a warrior, the weather on the plains grew very hot. There was a drought and it did not rain for many days. The clan followed the starving yerik around, hoping that Eywa would forgive them for whatever crime they commited and bring back the rains. Then, disaster struck, the plains were set ablaze by the sun's unforgiving glow and the clan and the yerik had to flee, but it was too late for some. Ateyo lost his parents and brothers in the fires, he himself getting heavily burned saving some of the other children and his little sister. Within a few days his sister died from her wounds, and in the hour the little girl died died, Eywa let the skies cry.
Ateyo now bears these scars without repulsion, for a great many of the younger clan members owe their lives to him snatching them from the fires grasp. They show him their gratitude at times by bringing him beads, medicine, and food. They have their lives to show for what Ateyo had done. All Ateyo has to show for his deed is scars, the grey-blue feathers in his hair, and an empty family tent. Everytime they move he still sets it up, a memory he cannot bear to forget always rising up with it.
Abilities: Ateyo is an extremely patient hunter and can wait for hours with his bow drawn, looking for the perfect opportunity to strike. Ateyo is also quite open when it comes to relations with tawtute and other clans. He can find a way to settle arguments, no matter how big or small, and if there are any disagreements between himself and another, those are settled with a hawk-like stare.
Strengths: He is a great tracker, hunter, and warrior. Very skilled at riding and breaking pa'li, and good at settling disagreements.
Weaknesses:A soft smile and truthful eyes can melt him like butter, and any male threatening a female will send him into a rage. He can be very distant at times and doesn't easily reveal his feelings, no matter how good of a smile you have.
