Character Name:Ni'ul'ulyuey
Name meaning (if applicable): Increasingly beautiful (inside)
Species: Na'vi
Clan: Tultxayo
Occupation: Hunter
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Eye color: Reddish gold
Hair color: Black
Height: 3 meters
Weight: 140 kilograms
Physical Description: Ni'ul'ulyuey looks fairly average for a Na'vi. She is fairly tall and slender. Her hair is black, tightly braided, and of a length just at her shoulder level. She wears many piercings; with four plugs in her right ear, two in her left, a single bridge piercing, and a close set of lowbret lower lip piercings. Her ears are gauged with bone or wood plugs, her bridge piercing is always made of bone, while her lowbret bears a matched set of curved bone (inspired by the lowbret worn by David Draiman of the band Disturbed) that somewhat resemble fangs. Her style of dress is very spartan and practical, lacking in pronounced decoration. She wears uncolored leather clothing as well as straps and cords. About her throat she wears a nantang fang, a gift from her father and a trophy of one of her first kills.
- a picture will be forthcoming once I figure out a way to host it-
Background: Ni'ul'ulyuey was born of a hunter and a crafter. Her father was a renowned hunter of their nomadic clan, a close friend to the Olo'eyktan, while her mother was a talented artisan in wood and sinew. Her father mastered the Talioang hunt, the way of hunting and taking down the massive and dangerous Sturmbeest. Her mother remains one of the principle bowyers and fletchers of her clan. Ni'ul'ulyuey was a popular child among her peers, always rising to any challenge, and quick to share what she had with all her kin. After she became an adult, and a hunter, she was following her father to learn the skills of the Talioang hunt. The pair (as well as five other unlucky hunters) became trapped in a stampede of the huge herbivores and only Ni'ul'ulyuey survived this accident. Her father died days later of his wounds. Ni'ul'ulyuey suffered permanent nerve damage in her left arm, rendering the limb utterly useless, and still bears several scars on that limp limb as proof of her ordeal. True to her character she didn't let this disability hamper her role as a hunter of the clan. Over the last two years she has retrained herself as a hunter. She can no longer use a bow, but she has specialized in the use of a lance instead, developing a mounted form of spear combat that is much like jousting in concept. She remains highly respected in her clan, more so for her refusal to accept a lesser place in hunts, however due to her injury she is the clan member most often chosen to represent her clan when her leaders cannot, or deliver messages over long distances. It is because of her even personality, her social eloquence, and her unshakable determination that she has been chosen in this role.
Abilities: Ni'ul'ulyuey was once quite skilled with the bow, one of the top marksmen of her clan (in her age group at any rate). She remains a skilled tracker and quite capable of leading a hunting party due to her skills at wilderness survival. She is also a highly talented equestrian, with a rapport with the Pali that few have seen in her clan in the past few generations. She can always convince a Pali to accept her, and the link shared defies normal conventions for such unions. Since her injury she has had to adapt to the lack of her left arm, so now she specializes in the spear. Her abilities are improving constantly with this weapon, and she is quite dangerous when mounted.
Strengths: An even personality, a skill at social situations, and her staunch determination to a task. Her combat and hunting skills are really secondary to these intangible qualities. Ni'ul'ulyuey does not give up, she does not accept failure in herself, and she is not vulgar nor egotistical about this.
Weaknesses: Currently she feels insecure regarding her disability, and will take risks she normally wouldn't consider if someone challenges her with that disability. The loss of a limb also does negatively effect her capacity, making even routine tasks take longer than it would for a Na'vi with two working hands.
Banana? Yes. I have read the rules.
